About Dorchester County Farm Bureau
Dorchester County is one of Maryland's leading agricultural counties, with more than 129,000 acres of farmland and an average farm size of 353 acres. Agriculture is a major driver of the local economy, with corn, soybeans, wheat, vegetables, poultry, and grain production among the county's top commodities. Dorchester County Farm Bureau is committed to supporting local farmers through advocacy, education, youth programs, and community outreach while promoting the importance of agriculture throughout the county. Based on the 2022 USDA Census of Agriculture, the county generated more than $365 million in agricultural sales.

DORCHESTER COUNTY FARM BUREAU DEER CROP DAMAGE DISCUSSION WITH LOCAL LEGISLATORS

This meeting will provide an opportunity for our members to share firsthand how deer are affecting their farms, discuss the challenges they face, and hear your thoughts on current and protentional legislative solutions. We greatly appreciate your continued support of Maryland agriculture and believe this conversation will be valuable for everyone involved.
Dorchester County Farm Bureau Scholarships & Grants:
DCFB Ambassador
The Ambassador will attend designated Farm Bureau and community events, promote agricultural education and advocacy, and assist with Farm Bureau outreach efforts throughout the year. Applications due August 12, 2026.
Laura Layton Educational Scholarship
Scholarships are available to students studying a curriculum related to agriculture, forestry, or
an area that benefits agriculture. Eligibility will be determined by the Scholarship Committee
of the DCFB and approved by the Board of Directors. Applications due April 15, 2027.
