About Calvert County Farm Bureau
Calvert County is home to 285 farms spanning 24,654 acres of agricultural land. Together, these farms produce more than $15 million in marketable agricultural products each year. Local agriculture includes a wide variety of crops, such as grain, beans, vegetables, melons, and sweet potatoes, as well as livestock including poultry, cattle, pigs, goats, and horses.
Calvert County farmers take great pride in providing fresh, locally produced food and agricultural products to residents throughout the community and beyond the county's borders. The Calvert County Farm Bureau is dedicated to preserving this strong agricultural heritage by advocating for farmers and agriculture at the local, state, and national levels, ensuring that farming remains a vital part of Calvert County for generations to come.
