About Allegany County Farm Bureau
Allegany County has a rich agricultural heritage rooted in both crop and livestock production. According to the 2022 U.S. Census of Agriculture, the county is home to 270 farms spanning more than 34,000 acres, with approximately 76% of agricultural sales coming from crops and 24% from livestock, poultry, and related products. Farmers produce a variety of crops, hay, and fresh produce while also raising beef cattle, sheep, poultry, and other livestock. Beyond production agriculture, Allegany County Farm Bureau is dedicated to promoting agricultural literacy through Ag in the Classroom, supporting local FFA chapters, and advocating for the next generation of agricultural leaders and producers.
